Relation to curriculumCompulsory modules for 3rd semester students. This course explores psychological theories and principles relevant to the teaching and learning process. It supports CPL-3 and CPL-8 by providing insights into cognitive development, motivation, individual differences, and classroom behavior—knowledge essential for creating effective and inclusive learning environments. In line with ASIIN’s focus on pedagogical competence and learner-centered education, the course enables prospective biology educators to apply psychological concepts in understanding how students learn and how instruction can be tailored to meet diverse educational needs. Students are trained to interpret learning challenges, manage student behavior, and foster positive classroom dynamics—skills that are fundamental to their role as reflective, empathetic, and effective teachers.

Module objectives/intended learning outcomesStudents are able to explain the concept of educational psychology in the development of learning and study skills.Students are able to explain various psychological concepts that influence the learning process.Students are able to use learning theories to analyze educational problems both inside and outside the classroom.
ContentThis course explores the fundamental concepts of Basic Concepts of Educational Psychology, Cognitive Development, c) Social and Moral Development, Psychological Concepts of Intelligence, Talent, and Learning Styles, Behaviorism Theory in Learning, Cognitive Theory in Learning, Constructivism Theory in Learning, Common problems experienced by students in school, Review and intervention of student problems: Motivation to learn, Review and intervention of student problems: Learning difficulties, Review and intervention of student problems: Off Task Behavior, Overview and intervention of student problems: Teacher-student interaction, Review and intervention of student problems: Aggressiveness and Bullying, and Teacher Professionalism and the Implementation of Guidance and Counseling Services.
