| Module objectives/intended learning outcomes | Students are able to understand and apply laboratory safety procedures in analytical chemistry practices.Students can operate basic laboratory equipment and perform accurate analytical measurements.Students are able to conduct various types of quantitative and qualitative analyses, such as titration, gravimetry, and ion tests.Students can analyze and interpret experimental results using concepts of accuracy, precision, and basic statistics.Students are able to compile practical reports in a systematic and scientifically appropriate format. |
| Content | The Practical Analytical Chemistry course is designed to equip students with hands-on skills in performing both qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses systematically. Students will learn and apply classical analytical methods such as acid-base titration, redox titration, complexometric titration, gravimetric analysis, and qualitative testing of cations and anions. The course also includes an introduction to basic spectrophotometric and chromatographic techniques. In addition, students are trained to properly use laboratory equipment, understand the importance of accuracy, precision, and laboratory safety, and prepare scientific reports based on experimental data. This course provides a fundamental foundation for understanding analytical chemistry principles and their applications in both academic and industrial settings. |
