| Module objectives/intended learning outcomes | Through the analysis of concepts, theories, and methods of solution preparation in chemistry practicum and research activities, students are able to handle solutions in chemistry laboratories and research with accuracy and responsibility.Through lectures employing innovative approaches and diverse learning methods, students are able to accurately perform solution concentration calculations and formulate the steps for solution preparation based on the type of concentration for chemistry learning and research correctly and carefully.Through case studies and group projects, students are able to design procedures for determining the concentration of a solute (such as acetic acid in commercial vinegar or HCl in floor cleaners) in a solution using appropriate methods. |
| Content | This course explores various types of solution concentrations and their applications, including concentration expressions (percent, mole fraction, molarity, molality, and normality) for solid substances and concentrated solutions. It will also cover the design and analysis of solution concentration using titration and spectrophotometric methods, as well as the preparation of standard and reagent solutions. |
