| Content | The Surface and Solid Chemistry course is designed to provide students with an advanced understanding of the properties of liquids and solids, crystal forms, crystal lattices, and surface adsorption of chemical substances. Understanding the structure of solids through existing models enables one to predict the properties of a particular solid and, by modifying the components that make up a solid substance as desired, produce materials that can be utilized in various fields, including ceramics, alloys, and semiconductors. In the section on surface tension, students are expected to understand the surface tension of liquids, Kelvin’s law, Gibbs adsorption, and isotherms, which can be applied in heterogeneous catalyst adsorption in chemical synthesis. |
