| Module objectives/intended learning outcomes | After actively participating in the lectures (C), students (A) are able to analyze essential oils, including their definition, uses, economic value, isolation methods, analytical techniques of physicochemical properties, and identification of their chemical components (B, C5), thereby being able to apply them (P4) for proper development (D, A4).After actively participating in the lectures (C), students (A) are able to draw conclusions about essential oils in terms of source plants, production, quality, chemical components, uses, isolation, and modification of the main components of patchouli, citronella, ylang-ylang, galangal, nutmeg, clove/lawang, vetiver, agarwood, and/or eucalyptus oils (B, C6), thereby being able to apply them (P4) to verify them accurately (D, A5). |
| Content | This course provides an in-depth study of essential oils, including their definition, uses, and economic value; isolation methods and analytical techniques for their physicochemical properties; as well as the identification of their chemical components. The course also examines essential oils in terms of their source plants, production, quality, and chemical components, along with their applications, isolation, and modification of the main components of patchouli, citronella, ylang-ylang, galangal, nutmeg, clove/lawang, vetiver, and/or eucalyptus oils. |
