Module objectives/intended learning outcomesAfter actively participating in the lectures (C), students (A) are able to analyze environmental issues, the presence of chemicals, the water cycle and biogeochemical cycles, as well as environmental sanitation (B, C4), thereby being able to manage them sustainably (P2) and utilize them appropriately (D, A3).After actively participating in the lectures (C), students (A) are able to analyze air, water, and soil pollution, as well as global environmental issues, including the ozone layer, acid rain, and hazardous and toxic waste (B3) (B, C4), thereby being able to manage them sustainably (P2) and utilize them appropriately (D, A3).
ContentThis course provides an in-depth discussion on the introduction to environmental chemistry; the environment and its issues; chemistry and the environment; chemicals in the environment; chemical transformation processes in the environment; the water cycle and biogeochemical cycles; environmental sanitation; air, water, and soil pollution; global environmental issues, including the greenhouse effect, the ozone layer, acid rain, and hazardous and toxic waste (B3).
