Module objectives/intended learning outcomes Upon completing the course (C), students (A) are able to explain (B) the essence, position, function, and appropriate attitudes toward the use of the Indonesian language accurately (D).Upon completing the course (C), students (A) are able to apply (B) spelling, diction, affixation, reduplication, and composition accurately in Indonesian writing (D)Upon completing the course (C), students (A) are able to use (B) sentence elements correctly and write (B) and develop (B) paragraphs in proper Indonesian (D).Upon completing the course (C), students (A) are able to write (B) letters, scientific papers, and various types of technical reports in proper and correct Indonesian (D).
Content General Indonesian Language is a compulsory course that must be taken by all students. This course is designed, among other purposes, to strengthen students’ character development. It is offered in both odd and even semesters. The scope of the course covers the history and development of the Indonesian language, its status and functions, the general guidelines of Indonesian spelling, word formation processes, word choice (diction), sentence construction and effective sentences, paragraphs and their development patterns, academic writing, popular scientific writing, comprehension of academic books, exploration of library resources, and the writing of official letters.
