| Content | This course is designed to strengthen students’ understanding of the physical and chemical properties of transition elements; the extraction and applications of transition elements; the physical and chemical characteristics of transition element compounds; synthesis techniques and applications of transition element compounds; valence bond theory, crystal field theory, and ligand field theory; nomenclature of coordination compounds; types of ligands and their applications in the synthesis of coordination compounds; products of coordination compound reactions; stability of coordination compounds; reaction kinetics and mechanisms of coordination compounds; molecular geometry of coordination compounds, their applications, and the advancement of coordination chemistry. |
